In the past two hours, Manchester United have completed the signing of Argentina star Angel Di Maria for a British record transfer fee of £59.7 million, on a 5 year contract.
The record was perviously held by Fernando Torres when he moved from Liverpool to Chelsea for £50 million.

Louis Van Gaal described Di Maria as a, "World class player" and went on to say,

Manchester United Draw with The Black Cats

V

Louis Van Gaal, who was wanting to improve from his 2-1 defeat to Swansea City last Saturday, managed only a 1-1 draw with Sunderland.
The game was played at The Stadium Of Light and kicked of at 16.00 hours.

It was a very quick start for Manchester United, Juan Mata scored in the 17th minute. It was a close ranged shot assisted by Antonio Valencia.
A few chances followed but in the 30th minute Sunderland's new signing from Manchester City Jack Rodwell equalised with a header from the centre of the box, assisted from a corner by Sebastian Larsson.

13 minutes later United made a substitution, off came Chris Smalling, because of an injury and on came the young star Michael Keane.

Half time: Sunderland 1-1 Manchester United.

After kick off a few chances were created by both sides, but at 61minutes Ashley Young was shown a yellow card.
One minute later Robin Van Persie, who has just come back from injury, was replaced by Danny Welbeck.
Adnan Januzaj also replaced the Scottish midfielder Darren Fletcher.
Meanwhile, Sunderland brought on Jordi Gomez, who arrived on the 1st July 2014 on a free transfer from Wigan, and he replaced the goal scorer Jack Rodwell.

After another 4 minutes Tom Cleverly was shown a yellow card for a bad foul.
At the 76 and the 78th minute Sunderland made two changes, Jozy Altidore came on for Steven Fletcher and Liam Bridcutt replaced William Buckley.
A couple more chances were created by both sides but all were squandered and the match ended Sunderland 1-1 Manchester United.

Transfer Rumour - Angel Di Maria Linked to Manchester United

According to numerous reports Angel Di Maria, the Madrid Star, has told new Argentinian defender Marcos Rojo that he wants to join Manchester United.
Rojo is one of Di Maria's international team mates. Also, according to some newspapers, United are setting up a bid of around £60 million.
Di Maria is set to be left out of the Real Madrid team tonight. He has also requested to leave Madrid.

But Manchester United are not the only team linked with Di Maria, Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain are also interested.
If these reports are true then lets hope his wish is granted and he comes to Old Trafford.

A bit of other team news, Rojo will not play against Sunderland because he does not have a work permit.
